Description
Loudness Simplified: Professional Loudness, True Peak and PPM metering at an affordable price with easy and flexible preset control.
The compact TouchMonitor TM3 comes with a capacitive 4.3“ touch screen and intuitive preset control at an affordable price. With its feature list, it is the ideal solution for editorial offices, edit suites, small control rooms, and all applications with the need of easy readable loudness-compliant level control.
The Unit
TM3 consists of a display unit for vertical or horizontal use and a remote interface box. It handles analog or digital stereo signals. TM3‘s flexible user interface allows the selection of up to 10 presets quickly and simply with just a finger swipe. The contained factory presets present a cross-section of the applications, audio connections and standards and allow you to start working right out of the box.
The Devicer Software
When it comes to configuring local presets using the Devicer DC1 software application (Windows® and Mac OS X® compatible), the TM3‘s power and flexibility really shines. Existing presets easily can be personalized and adapted to individual needs. Furthermore, Devicer DC1 allows to create several configuration sets with different presets, which may be uploaded to TM3 as required. (Devicer DC1 is available for free in the Audio Monitors/TouchMonitor TM3 section of members area (Manuals & Software)). Purchase and activation of software licences can also be managed with the Devicer.
The Instruments
Besides PPM and True Peak instruments, the TM3 features comprehensive loudness measuring features conforming to all relevant international standards (EBU R128, ITU-R BS.1770-3/1771-1, ATSC A/85, ARIB, OP-59, AGCOM, CALM Act). Loudness instruments include single-channel and summing bargraphs, loudness range and numerical displays.
Software Licences
Depending on individual needs, further instruments can be added to TM3 with the activation of corresponding software licences. Also, a software bundle can be purchased as a licence upgrade for activating all licences and for expanding the completed feature set with the Loudness Chart instrument. When the software bundle has been installed, upcoming instruments and functions can be added via firmware update.
For existing units the firmware is available for download. See the Audio Monitors/TouchMonitor TM3 section of members area (Manuals & Software).

Images
Instruments can be scaled, randomly positioned and combined.
This example shows a combined Loudness Meter and Peak Program Meter (left), Loudness Range (LRA) instrument in MagicLRA mode with Integrated (I) Loudness bargraph and graphical display of the Loudness Range (right), and control buttons for the Loudness measurement (below). This combination may be useful for Loudness measurements of many Stereo applications.
This picture shows an example for horizontal operation of the stereo version: Above on the left the Loudness Range (LRA) instrument in MagicLRA mode with Integrared bargraph and graphical Loudness Range display is running. An additional numerical display of the Integrated bargraph is on the left. Below left is the PPM with ARD+9 scale running. Below on the right the control buttons for the Loudness measurement is placed.
This example shows an arrangement of a multichannel application: On the left a True Peak Meter is displayed with its numerical display of the Integrated Loudness value above. On the right there is a digital peakmeter with its numerical display of the Integrated Loudness value above. Jointly used control buttons for the Loudness measurements are located at the bottom.
This example shows VU needle instruments in vertical orientation which can be displayed with the activated Moving Coil licence. As other modes, Stereo or dual needle instruments with British IIa resp. British IIb or Loudness scales are selectable.
This example shows in horizontal orientation the combined PPM and Loudness mode (BBC mode) of the activated Moving Coil licence. On this instrument, a third, cyan-coloured needle below the needles for the stereo signal shows one of the three summed loudness values M, S, or I on a separate scale. It is helpful for the intuitive display of loudness being on target.
With horizontal finger swipes it is easy to scroll through the available presets and to select the one meeting the needs of your application. Just touch the "Start" button to load and activate the preset.
TM3 may be operated in horizontal orientation. Swipe vertical across the display of the upright standing unit and counter-clockwise rotate it. Then you also can scroll through the available presets with horizontal finger swipes and select the one you need. Just touch the "Start" button to load and activate the preset for horizontal operation.
The TM3 recognizes the wipe orientation (lengthwise or crosswise) in order to switch between vertical and horizontal display modes. It doesn‘t use a motion sensor for this.
With Devicer DC1 software for Mac OS X® and Windows® the existing presets may be adapted to individual needs. All settings are made with the software on the computer screen. An animated preview is also displayed. After being uploaded to TM3 and being activated, the adapted presets are available for operation.
